South Abington Park

The township has two terrific parks with numerous outdoor athletic facilities. One of the parks is located next to the South Abington Elementary School on Northern Blvd. (routes 6 & 11). It features ball fields, basketball courts, a children's playground,  a picnic pavillion, notably, covered bridges (pictured at right) that lead to a fabulous walking trail (photo, below right).

The original community Library was established in1960. The facility, located at the intersection of the Morgan Highway and Grove Street has an excellent collection of books, movies, music. Plans are currently in place to build a major expansion to the building in the near future.  This expansion will allow the library to expand its already excellent collection of materials oriented to children. More information about the Abington Library can be obtained by visiting their own website.

Anyone using Township parks, please clean up after pets as per the Township Ordinance.

Please be considerate to all who use the park.
